Sidney received his MA in Counselor Education at the University of Montana, Missoula in 2001 and a Doctorate of Education in Counseling in 2013 also at UM. He has experience working in diverse settings including health care clinics for Native peoples, community mental health, schools, adventure based counseling settings, and private practice. He is trained in a variety of counseling approaches and in all of his work and trainings he strives to maintain a Feedback Informed and Client-Directed stance. He is a Certified Trainer with the International Center for Clinical Excellence and a full-time university faculty.
Sidney is known for his engaging, humorous presentation style and for his practical communication of how research literature can inform counseling practice. He was selected as the keynote speaker for a state counseling association conference and presents locally, regionally, and nationally. He has conducted numerous agency implementation projects for Feedback Informed Counseling and is committed to teaching strategies to honor the client’s voice in the counseling process.
